 Martin Collison is a member of the East of England Food and Agricultural Board, CLA’s Agricultural and Land Use Committee and Vice Chair of the Fens Adventurers Leader RDPE Group.

Martin Collison

Martin founded an import business in 1990 which he sold in 1999 and was a partner in the family farm from 1994- 2008 which supplies cut flowers to supermarkets. He has been a consultant since 2000 specialising in developing strategies, projects and programs to deliver change in rural areas.  During 2012-13 Martin worked alongside the team developing the UK Agri-Tech Strategy.

 

Simon Pearson is Professor of Agri-Food Technology.

Simon is the founding Director of LIAT, The Lincoln Institute of Agri Food Technology, who are responsible for developing the agri food technology research platform for the University of Lincoln.    Simon’s research interests include a diverse range of agri technology applications including robotic systems, automation, energy control and management, food safety systems, novel crop development

Mark Swainson- Lead for Higher Education and Food Manufacturing Research, NCFM.

Mark Swainson is based at the University of Lincoln’s National Centre for Food Manufacturing in Holbeach.  His industrial background is Technical and Operational Management within the risk chilled and frozen food industry.  Listed on the European Food Safety Authority’s (ESFA) Food Safety Experts Database, Mark holds a Masters Degree in Industrial Food Technology and is also a qualified and experienced Lead Auditor and member of the Institute of Packaging.  Mark leads the Higher Education and Research agendas at the NCFM and conducts industry based research usually working with businesses on bespoke projects to address specific food industry challenges.  Research areas include: Quality, Safety and Hygiene Control Systems, Advanced Process Technologies & Automation, Food Supply Chains, Microbiological Safety and Shelf Life of Products.

Dr Duncan Rowland – Reader in Cultural Computing at the University of Lincoln

Dr Rowland’s current research is focused on creative computing with emerging technologies.  His primary interest is in exploring the human condition through relationships with these new digital devices in combination with more traditional media.  Duncan has worked previously as an experimental psychologist investigating face perception at the university of St Andrews, a software developer in the games industry (Colin McRae Rally 3 on PS2 and Xbox), managed a Virtual Reality research laboratory in Michigan US, and been a Senior Research Fellow in User Experience at the Mixed Reality Lab, Nottingham.  He has published over 70 scholarly articles and consults commercially on App development (currently having 8 apps available in Apple’s app store that together total over 100.000 installs).

 

Andrew Fearne – Professor of chain management at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia

Andrew’s research is focussed on the co-ordination of value chains, from field to fork. He is the founding editor of the International Journal of Supply Chain Management, author of over 100 articles, the 14th Adelaide Thinker in Residence and son of a Kentish pig farmer!
